'If you make my word your home
you will indeed be my disciples,
you will learn the truth
and the truth will make you free'.

The above is a bit of advice from Jesus about how to move towards Christian maturity. To make my 'home' in Jesus word means that I should be grounded in scripture. But this grounding isn't from a book learning point of view only it is also from a Holy Spirit perspective. To me the bible is not dead words on a paper page - to me the Holy Spirit lives in the word of God as read or as spoken. Time after time I have seen its ability to affect lives and attitudes and to even bring peace into a room. But this often can't happen instantly - it is something that happens after we have chosen to live in the word already. Dwelling every day with the word and meditating on it inorder to let it soak into our lives. It isn't a quick fix either it is something that comes after time spent being faithful
